sowing snow in conepots (2024)

This piece was written for (with) Chico and Mrika's duo Nada Contra.

It seeks to explore the sound potentialities that combine with the physical gesture that produces them. It uses the dynamic nature of the duo, which combines the physicality of the body and the artificiality of the synthesizer and cone speakers, to challenge their relationships and interactions. In a game of transformations in sound continuums, the possibility arises of swapping roles - not going against, but allowing interference.

“sowing snow in cone pots” is therefore, in a literal sense, a piece that seeks to make something grow from what the body sows - space, texture, energy... snow.
